Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

Tupton Hall School is an inclusive school where every student is valued equally regardless of their ability, need or interest. For each student to achieve their academic potential the school must also support their personal development. To do this we have developed systems to support their academic, social and personal needs.

The Enhanced Learning Faculty is committed to ensuring that all students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) achieve and succeed while at Tupton Hall School.  We work closely with other faculties and pastoral teams to ensure that all students receive the additional support they require to enable them to access the curriculum and have a positive experience within school. This could be through bespoke provision outside of mainstream lessons or through support within their lessons. Teaching Assistants are deployed to assist students with Statements of Special Educational Needs.

As a school, we are mindful of and comply with the expectations of the SEN and Disability Code of Practice 0-25 years, introduced by the Government in June 2014. We also adhere to the Equality Act 2010.

We use different interventions and approaches to address specific areas of need and would look carefully at your child’s individual needs when deciding how best to support your child in consultation with parents/carers and the young person.
