Year 8 Persuasive Speech Competition 🎤✨

Could you plan, write and read a piece of persuasive writing out to over a hundred people?
Yesterday, our Year 8's did!
A group of our talented students took part in a Persuasive Speech Competition, held in the Richard Smith Hall. Every student who took part delivered an incredible speech, and we are immensely proud of them all!
A panel of staff had the difficult task of choosing the winners, and after much deliberation, the results were:
🥉 3rd Place – George
🥈 2nd Place – Benji
🥇 1st Place – Leiarna
A huge congratulations to each of them!
We’d also like to give a special shout‑out to Lana-Grace, who was selected as the students’ winner for her outstanding speech 👏
The English Department are incredibly proud of all our participants — their confidence, effort and enthusiasm shone throughout the competition!
