Admissions
Outcomes of consultation on our planned admission arrangements for September 2027 onwards
I am writing to notify you of the outcomes of the consultation on our planned admission arrangements for the academic year beginning September 2027 onwards.
The consultation ran from 1 December 2025 to 12 January 2026, taking place in line with the Department for Education School Admission Code.
The draft admission policy for the school year September 2027, can be found on our school website: https://www.tuptonhall.org.uk/policies under the second heading ‘Consultation on Reduction of Pupil Admission Number.’
There were two responses to the consultation:
Derbyshire Local Authority
‘I can confirm that as the local authority with the statutory responsibility for the availability of sufficient local school places, we do not object to the proposal.
I would like to thank you for working closely with our officers to agree an appropriate number that will allow us to not have concerns about provision.
Derbyshire County Council’
Prospective parent
‘I have seen the new admissions policy, and I have some concerns regarding my son’s application for Yr7 in 2026. My application for a school place was submitted a few days late as I had missed the deadline. Is he likely to get a place or will the new admissions policy have an effect. My eldest son is at Tupton Hall in Yr9 and we live on Ashover Road.’
This response was a query whether the parent’s child would be affected by the proposed change to the PAN. Her child will have been admitted to the school in September 2026, prior to a change in the PAN.
These responses have been taken into account without objection to the proposal. Therefore, the planned changes to our planned admission arrangements for September 2027 will progress with the PAN set at 290 moving forwards in all year groups.
