Excellent A Level results at Tupton Hall School Sixth Form open doors for students.​​​​​​​

This year’s cohort delivered an outstanding performance; an impressive 42.2% of grades were A–B* and 69.5% of grades were A–C*.

Particularly strong outcomes were achieved across a range of subjects, including Art, Photography, History, Media, Geography and Sociology:

• Art students achieved 66.7% A*–A
• Photography achieved 66.7% A*-B
• Other highlights included 76.5% A–B in Media,
• 70% A–B in History
• 63.6% A*–B in Geography
• 53.3% A*–B in Sociology

These remarkable results are a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of our students, supported every step of the way by their families and our incredible staff. It’s a day of pride, celebration, and joy for the entire Tupton Hall community, with students going on to study at university, learn through apprenticeships or enter the world of work.

We wish every one of them the very best as they take their next steps into university, apprenticeships, employment and the many other exciting opportunities ahead.”

Tupton Hall Sixth Form continues to be one of the most inclusive Sixth Forms in Derbyshire, welcoming students each year from as many as 11 local schools. Students can choose from a diverse range of A Level subjects and are able to flourish and achieve their goals in a supportive environment.

Max Taylor achieved A*s in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics alongside an A in Chemistry, and is heading to the University of Bath to study Chemical Engineering. Crediting sixth form's supportive teachers and valuable free periods for helping keep the rigorous workload manageable, Max advises younger students to front-load their efforts in Year 12. With a long-term vision of pursuing a PhD and an international career spanning materials research, petroleum engineering, and fly-in, fly-out schemes with ambitions to work in India and China, Max is fully prepared for the next chapter.

Melodie Eden achieved an A in Psychology alongside Bs in Sociology and English Language, and is heading to the University of Sheffield to study Psychology. Reflecting on her time at sixth form, Melodie shared that she loved every minute of it, crediting supportive teachers and targeted period 6 revision sessions leading up to exams for helping her to succeed. With a long-term goal of building a meaningful career in psychology or social work, she is ready to dive straight into her degree.

Laurie Skadorwa achieved As in Chemistry and Maths and a B in Biology. She is heading to the University of Nottingham to study Veterinary Medicine. Reflecting on the journey, Laurie's mum, Julie, shared that the teaching and support have been outstanding, noting that joining for sixth form was an easy transition and praising staff for creating an incredibly supportive environment. Laurie also benefited from completing the Sutton Trust summer school, recommended by the school as a pathway into veterinary medicine. With a long-term goal of working as a veterinarian, Laurie is fully prepared for an exciting career in animal health and would recommend the sixth form to others.

Raya Elliss achieved A*s in Geography and Psychology alongside an A in PE, and is heading to Manchester Metropolitan University to study Physiotherapy. Raya highlighted the incredible support outside of lessons, extra study hours, and specialist teachers, while also enjoying meeting new people and experiencing a smooth transition from her secondary school to the sixth form.

Ethan Hall achieved Bs in Biology and Environmental Science, along with a C in Geography, and is heading to the University of Bristol to study palaeontologywith the long-term goal of working as a palaeontologist. Ethan praised all the teachers for being amazing and helping to guide the way, while enjoying the social aspect, increased freedom, and the opportunity to specialise in subjects he loves compared to lower school.

Jasmine Rebetts secured As in Psychology and Sociology and a C in English Language, and is stepping straight into an Accountancy apprenticeship. Jasmine’s mum, Sally, praised the sixth form for helping Jasmine to mature and providing great resources and study spaces. When asked what advice she would give to students taking their A-Levels, Jasmine said; “concentrate on pacing yourself rather than cramming”, noting that the experience and her success has opened up a world of global opportunities.

Keira Gilthorpe achieved an A* in Art, a B in Sociology, and a C in Law, and is heading to Sheffield Hallam University to study Law with the long-term goal of working in the legal sector. Kayleigh loved her time in sixth form, making great friends and praising the amazing teachers who supported her along the way. Offering advice to incoming students, Kayleigh recommends keeping things in perspective and remembering not to put too much pressure on yourself.

Olivia Maddox secured A*s in Fine Art and Photography, alongside an A in Media and a B in Film, with career sights set on the media and film industries and an apprenticeship application currently in motion with Channel 4. Crediting the great environment, variety of subjects, and passionate teachers—with a special shout-out to the art department for going above and beyond and keeping the art rooms open at break and lunch—Olivia noted that learning never felt like a chore. Reflecting on the transition to sixth form and navigating massive canvas projects, she praised the staff for making the change seamless, describing the entire experience as "a chapter I don’t want to end."
