GCSE students revel in success and look forward to the next chapter

Tupton Hall School, part of Redhill Academy Trust, welcomed back their Year 11 class of 2025 to collect long-awaited GCSE results. As a year group whose education was affected by the pandemic, they demonstrated a great attitude to learning during their studies and should be proud of their achievements.
Adam Smurawa achieved an exceptional set of grades: 7 x 8s, 2 x 7s, 2 x 6s. After his two years at Tupton Hall Sixth Form, Adam hopes to become an engineer. When asked to reflect on his time at school, Adam commented: “The staff are really supportive and I enjoyed the Art co-curricular offer. My advice to other students is to start revising early!”
Milan Tutt achieved 6 x 9s, 2 x 8s, 2 x 7s. When asked about his success, Milan said: “Receiving my GCSE results marks the culmination of years of hard work, resilience and determination. I am deeply grateful to my teachers and the school, whose encouragement and belief in me have been invaluable throughout my journey. As I move into Sixth Form I am eager to embrace new challenges and continue striving for excellence. My ultimate ambition is to study Law at university and I see these results as an important milestone towards this goal. This experience has taught me that with dedication and the right support, no aspiration is out of reach.”
Chloe Chaplen achieved 5 x 9s, 3 x 8s, 1 x 7, 1 x 5. She plans to further her studies at Tupton Hall Sixth Form next year, studying Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry to support her dream of becoming a Biomedical Scientist. Chloe commented: “Teachers have been really approachable and I have found their revision sessions really helpful. I’ve enjoyed having such a supportive environment around me and I’ve made good friends for life. I’m really looking forward to the next chapter.”
Poppy Knowles attained an amazing 3 x 9s, 1 x 8, 3 x 7s, 1 x 6, 1 x 5. During her time at Tupton Hall, Poppy amassed hours in the art department, working on coursework and honing her craft. She attributed this dedication and the support of the teachers to her incredible achievement; earning one of the top Fine Art grades in the entire country. Poppy commented: “The teachers have been phenomenal and so supportive. I couldn’t have done it without their support, especially the art department and the mock exam process preparing me for the real thing.” Next year Poppy will stay on at Tupton Hall Sixth form to study Drama, Art and English Language; a creative selection of subjects that will support her dream of becoming a tattoo artist.
James Hutchinson aspires to become a pilot. His impressive grades; 5 x 8s, 3 x 7s, 1 x 6 certainly take him one step closer to taking flight. Next year, he will attend Tupton Hall Sixth Form to study Maths, Computer Science and Physics. He praised the school’s after-school revision sessions, the dedication of his teachers and says that he is excited for the next steps.
Emma Lowden was pleased with her results; 1 x 9, 1 x 8, 5 x 7s, 3 x 6s. Next year, she will attend Tupton Hall Sixth Form to study a plethora of subjects: Geography, Psychology, Sociology and Law. This varied curriculum supports her long-term ambition to attend university and work in the field. Emma’s mum, Kirsty, commented: “Tupton Hall has been amazing. She has enjoyed every second and has thrived here. Support from her Head of House has been amazing!”
Max Hudson was awarded 3 x 9s, 3 x 8s, 3 x 7s, 1 x 5. He credited his achievements to hard-work, dedication and supportive staff. Max will go on to Chesterfield College to study a Level 3 T Level in Software Engineering and Computer Science. His mother, Sharon, commented: “Max has really enjoyed his time at Tupton Hall. It’s been great for both of my children who have both done well as a result of exceptional teaching.”
Passionate student, Jess Whitaker, plans to stay on at Tupton Hall Sixth form to study Art, English Language and Biology. Alongside writing and self-publishing her debut novel, Jess achieved 2 x 8s, 5 x 7s, 1 x 6, 1 x 5 in her GCSE exams. Jess commented: “School has been really supportive, especially with my writing. I’ve taken part in a few extra-curricular opportunities including Readathons and I was a library helper during Year 11. I’d love to work in Forensics, so I’m really looking forward to the future.”
Other high performing individuals:
Esme Alden Dennis achieved 1 x 9, 3 x 8s, 1 x 7, 2 x 6s, 2 x 5s and will attend Sixth Form next year with a long-term aspiration to work in the Film and TV industry.
Archie Winson achieved 4 x 7 and 2 x 8s. Next year he will attend Sixth Form to pursue his goal of working in cyber security.
Jayden Yeung achieved 2 x 9s, 2 x 8s, 2 x 7s, 3 x 6s, 2 x 5s. He aims to work in IT and will study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Computer Science at Sixth Form next year.
Noah Stevens achieved 4 x 8s, 2 x 7s, 2 x 6s, 1 x 5. He will study Computer Science, Maths, Physics and Geography at Tupton Hall Sixth Form, aspiring to work in Coding.
