Happy World Book Day! 📚✨
Today we celebrate the stories that shaped us, the characters who stayed with us, and the books that opened doors to new worlds.
📚✨ World Book Day is always one of our favourite days of the year! It’s a chance for our school community to celebrate stories, imagination and the joy of reading. The atmosphere is always buzzing as students share their favourite books, discover new reads and take part in activities that bring stories to life.
One of the highlights every single year? Our amazing staff, who never fail to dress to impress! From classic literary heroes to mischievous villains, magical creatures and modern favourites, our teachers fully embrace the fun. Their costumes spark conversations, inspire students and remind everyone just how powerful a good story can be.
Whether it’s a bold, eye‑catching outfit or a subtle nod to a beloved character, staff go all‑in to bring books off the page and into the school corridors. It’s a brilliant way to show students that reading isn’t just an academic skill — it’s a lifelong adventure.
Our wonderful librarian Ms Palfreyman went above and beyond (as always!) to host a brilliant World Book Day Party in the library — and what a celebration it was! Students arrived dressed as their favourite literary characters, filling the space with everything from classic heroes to modern icons. The creativity was incredible!
And of course… it wouldn’t be a celebration without themed treats. Students enjoyed a delicious caterpillar cake inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛🎂 and more than enough chocolate to rival Mr Wonka’s factory 🍫✨
A huge thank you to Ms Palfreyman for bringing stories to life and creating such a joyful atmosphere for our readers. Events like this remind us just how special our reading community is. ❤️📖
World Book Day continues to be a wonderful opportunity for our whole school to come together, celebrate creativity and share the stories that shape us. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year! 🌟📖
