Students aim high and celebrate incredible A Level results

The Class of 2025 made a triumphant return to Tupton Hall School, part of the Redhill Academy Trust, to collect their long-awaited A-Level results. This year’s cohort delivered an outstanding performance, achieving an impressive overall pass rate of 98.2%. The percentage of A* to A grades was 16.6%, with 39.8% A* to B and 69.9% A* to C.
These remarkable results are a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of our students, supported every step of the way by their families and our incredible staff. It’s a day of pride, celebration, and joy for the entire Tupton Hall community, with students going on to study at university, learn through apprenticeships or enter the world of work.
Andrew Knowles, Headteacher of Tupton Hall School, said: “We are all very proud of this wonderful group of individuals who now go on to the next phase of their lives, equipped with the qualifications and confidence to achieve further success. We have students now able to follow their dreams and aspirations; studying Law, the Humanities, Sciences, Dance, Nursing, Computer Science, Psychology and a wide variety of other academic disciplines. Many students are following exciting vocational paths including policing, engineering with Rolls Royce and food development with an international brand based abroad.”

Tupton Hall Sixth Form continues to be one of the most inclusive Sixth Forms in Derbyshire, welcoming students each year from as many as 11 local schools. Students can choose from a diverse range of A Level subjects and are able to flourish and achieve their goals in a supportive environment. - Marcus Gupta’s hard work earned him an exceptional 4 A*s and 1 A. His dedication has cemented his place at Edinburgh University, where he will study Computer Science. After joining lower school in Year 8, Marcus continued his academic career through the Sixth Form. He praised staff for their commitment, saying: “Lessons are good with content taught really well and consistently. Students and staff have positive, supportive relationships that have helped to prepare me for university life.”
- Mia Churm has attributed her success, 2 A*s and 2 As, to supportive staff and hard work. She said: “The teachers have been really supportive and have gone above and beyond. I came to Tupton Sixth Form from another school and the transition was smooth. I made friends and settled in really quickly.” We asked for Mia’s advice for incoming students, and she said: “Study hard and make sure you do lots of practice sessions. The extra support lessons that teachers hold are also really helpful – make the most of them!” Mia will go on to study History and Politics at the University of Durham with ambitions of becoming a Member of Parliament in the future.
- Freya Petersen has secured a place at Chesterfield College with her impressive grades; 2 A*s and 1 C. She attributed her success to hard work and staff pushing students to achieve their absolute best. Next year, she will attend Chesterfield College alongside her twin, Karin, who will study Film and Television; an industry that she aspires to work in.
- Jaiden French is the latest addition to Tupton Hall Sixth Form alumni joining Oxbridge universities, having secured his place at the University of Oxford to study Computer Science. He achieved 2 A*s, 1 A and 1 C. Jaiden was thrilled with his results, stating: “I’m really happy. I enjoyed Sixth Form; the facilities are great and staff are really helpful and supportive.” Jaiden’s Dad also commented: “Jaiden has built a lot of confidence since joining Tupton, not only academically, but he has grown as a person.”
- Maddy Hollis achieved amazing results; 2 A*s and 1 A. She will study English Literature at the University of York. When asked about her time at Tupton Hall Sixth Form, she commented: “I have really enjoyed my time here, especially the flexibility and support from staff. It has made the transition to university a lot less daunting. I’m really pleased.”
- Maxwell Marriott said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Tupton. The teachers are brilliant and there’s a great choice of subjects to choose from. I’d definitely recommend it. I was really nervous about joining as I was from a different secondary school, but the transition was a lot smoother than I expected and I settled in really quickly.” Maxwell earned himself 1 A* and 2 As; great results that secured his place at the University of Leeds to study Physics.
- Hollie Kay will attend Derby University to study Primary Education, taking her one step closer to her aspirations of becoming a Primary School Teacher. She achieved 2 As and 1 B. She said: “I’m really excited about the next stage of my academic journey. I feel really prepared for the next chapter because of the support from teachers and the Tupton Hall community.”
- Alexander Wildman studied extremely hard and attained an incredible 3 As and 1 B. He has accepted a place on an exciting degree apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce as a Nuclear Engineer. Reflecting on his time at Sixth Form, he said: “Staff have facilitated these grades; it was hard work, but the support has been amazing.” His parents also expressed their pride. Alexander’s Mum said: “I would recommend Tupton Hall Sixth Form. Alex has thrived here and had such amazing teachers. We are so proud of him.”
- Ruby Hunt aspires to work in Law, with an interest in becoming a Barrister or Solicitor in the future. Her grades support her dreams; 2 As and 1 B, and next year, she will attend Sheffield Hallam University to study Law. Ruby said; “Teachers go above and beyond for you at this Sixth Form. There’s lots of support and that has enabled me to really thrive here. It’s been a seven-year journey in Team Tupton, from Year 7 to now, and I’ve really enjoyed it!”
